Hello! Just a friendly reminder that tomorrow is Yearbook Picture Retake Day. If your child needs their photo retaken, please be sure to send back any previous photos you've purchased. If you haven't bought any photos yet, just let your child's teacher know so we can make sure your child gets their picture taken. Also, if your student was absent on the first picture day or has recently joined our school, please inform the teacher so we can arrange for their photo to be taken as well. Thanks so much!

Mrs. Vincent had some "fancy" friends show up at school today celebrating our Fancy 50th Day of school.

Skyview Elementary is proud to be a Special Olympics Unified Champion School, which means we are committed to an inclusive environment where every student belongs, builds friendships, and receives the support they need to shine.
October is Down Syndrome Awareness Month, and our Unified initiative is ROCK YOUR SOCKS. Chromosomes can look a bit like socks, and while some people have the usual number, some amazing friends have an extra copy of Chromosome 21. This extra chromosome is what leads to Down Syndrome, a condition that may impact learning and development, yet does not limit the joy, talents, or incredible contributions of these individuals to our school and community.
This Wednesday, while you enjoy wearing your pajamas to school, add your funkiest, brightest, and most unique socks to show your support for students, friends, and family with Down syndrome.
Let’s celebrate inclusion. Let’s celebrate differences. Let’s rock those socks, Millers!

Next week we will have optional dress up days.

Attention Skyview families, it's almost time for you to be able to showcase your child's artwork for everyone to see and enjoy.

We had an incredible surprise in Mrs. Smith’s RISE classroom last week! Our very own STEM teacher, Mrs. Butcher, brought in her son, an Edmond Police Officer, to meet our amazing students!
Officer Butcher gave our kids a hands-on look at his uniform, badge, handcuffs, radio, and all! They even got to try on their very own mini badges.
In true RISE fashion, we sent him off with a heartfelt letter about how to best communicate with us, how officers can best serve our students, and how much we appreciate the work Officer Butcher does every day.
Thank you, Officer Butcher, for your service and for helping our students see that law enforcement officers can be both heroes and friends!

This week in Mrs. Stanton's kindergarten, the kids had fun exploring foil and discovering how it reflects light! They also learned about a city in an area where during the winter the sun never makes an appearance. To bring the science lesson to life, they used the foil to mimic shining light on a little paper model of a town, making learning both interactive and exciting!

There's nothing better than being able to bring your favorite stuffed animal to school! Yesterday at Central our students had the chance to bring their very own plushie from home. It was so fun getting to see who brought what and why it was special to them. 🧸👏

Senator Jack Stewart visited Ranchwood Elementary to read to our 2nd and 3rd graders! We loved having you as our special guest, Senator! Thank you for stopping by!
